Addit! Pro For Prepar3D

Setup (or Addit! Pro) can't find Prepar3D. Help!

Addit! Pro looks at the Windows registry to locate Prepar3D. When Prepar3D was installed, the registry was updated. The Prepar3D setup program should have set the location where Prepar3D was installed. It created this registry key:

Prepar3D v4.x:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\SetupPath

Prepar3D v3.x:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\SetupPath

Prepar3D v2.x:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\SetupPath

Prepar3D v1.x:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\LockheedMartin\Prepar3D\SetupPath

The value of “SetupPath” above is your Prepar3D folder. For example, it might be “C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4”. If Prepar3D was never installed (or was installed but later removed), this key will not exist. Also, you may need to run Prepar3D at least once before the registry is updated properly.

Addit! Pro uses this key to make sure Prepar3D is installed at that location. If Addit! Pro cannot find “Prepar3D.exe” at this location or if the executable file is not recognized, an error occurs. Addit! Pro will inform you of the problem and present a dialog. You can then enter your true Prepar3D path. After validating the entered path, Addit! Pro will offer to update the Windows registry to fix the problem.

Setup finds Prepar3D but says it does not recognize the version
You must have a known version of Prepar3D installed. Addit! Pro is not designed to work with earlier/different versions. Addit! Pro works only with Prepar3D.

If you are certain you have the correct version of Prepar3D, reinstalling Prepar3D will solve the problem. However, this must be done exactly as follows:

  1. Use the Windows Add/Remove Programs dialog to uninstall Prepar3D.
  2. Delete all of the leftover Prepar3D folders and files.
  3. Reinstall Prepar3D.
  4. Run Prepar3D once then exit the program.
  5. Reinstall Addit! Pro.
